Thankfully our blog is back and running. Hope you all enjoyed your weekends, here is a recap of our day:
Assembly/Health/Art/Living Rosary Practice
Math: Quickly spoke about the terms and things they will be assessed on tomorrow, basic addition and subtraction skills, some word problems and reading and interpreting graphs.
Reading: Reading out loud, everyone participated reading Tomas Rivera, and we completed activities in our Journeys practice book, which included when to add s to verbs, and writing dates with capital letters and commas. This weeks spelling words are some of the most used verbs in English, since they use them a lot this week we will focus on spelling them correctly.:

Science: Classifying animals into 5 groups: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. We introduced all these new concepts, classified different animals and wrote different facts that make them different from each other. (Example: fish have scales, lay eggs and live under water.) They also did small posters on their assigned group, tomorrow they will explain which group they are and the facts we learned.
Homework: Language arts WBP page 23-24 and write three more sentences with three of the vocabulary words. There has been great improvement from all students with sentence writing, lets encourage this skill all the time, they are doing a wonderful job!

Ms. Valde is aware of the mistakes int he report cards, they will be re printed for all students in Grade 1 this week and I will send them home as soon as I get it.
