Unit 3: Animals

Lesson 1: What Are Living and Nonliving Things? Page 83-92

·         Understand that all the living and nonliving things in a place make up an environment.
·         Living things need food, air, shelter, water, to reproduce and space to live. They are animals, plants and people.
·         Differentiate between living and nonliving things.
·         Observe and classify things as living and non living.

Lesson 3: How are Animals Different? Page 107-118

·         Know facts about all the animal kingdoms.
·         Find different ways of grouping animals.
·         Know how they have babies, their appearance and if they cold or warm blooded.

Unit 4: Plants

Lesson 1: What do Plants Need? Pages 131-137

·         Understand what plants need to grow: sunlight, air and water.
·         Importance of soil and space to grow.

·         Identify and compare the major parts of a flowering plant, including stems, leaves, roots, flowers and seeds.

·         Distinguish between plants and animals
