Wednesday, Oct. 21st, 2015

Hello parents!

Here are a few important reminders for tomorrow's fieldtrip:

The bus will leave at 8:35, please be on time, or earlier if possible.
Regular uniform to be worn with comfortable shoes.
Please bring waterbottle and healthy snack in a bag.
If your child has been sick please have them bring a jacket incase it is cold inside the museum.
Students must have their NATION IDENTIFICATION CARD.

Students will not have homework due for tomorrow, however we have a small project for Friday. They will be doing their first presentations in class. We have learned about National symbols and what they mean in a country, I have assigned one National symbol, either from Taiwan or USA, for them to present. They must bring 1 poster which has the image for the symbol and 2-4 pieces of information about it. They will have to come infront of the class on Friday and talk about these symbols and show their poster.

Example:

Symbol: Mount Rushmore
Fact 1: A rock sculpture built in the United States.
Fact 2: Represents 4 important past presidents of USA.
Fact 3: It took 14 years to build!

I understand students will need extra help from parents for this project in order for them to help them make and research their symbol, please let me know if you are unable to complete this week, we can discuss for next week. The rubric will include the picture, facts, comprehension and tone of voice.

This is an important  start to a life long skill, public speaking, lets try to make this experience as positive as possible :)
