 A few announcements for tomorrow:

-Tomorrow and every 2nd Friday of each month, students are allowed to come to school in casual clothing (Not uniforms), they may wear jeans or anything comfortable and appropriate for the day. Since they have PE in the morning before 10, I recommend they come in their PE uniform shirt and any bottoms they wish, and bring an extra casual shirt to change into after PE class.

-Lunch Fee (NT$ 5,850) and Class Funds (NT$ 4,000) are due this week. Please send the envelope with your child's name if you have not done so already.

-Friday ECA Clubs will begin tomorrow, please make sure your child has sent in his preferences for joining a club.

-Julia has sent all students invitations for her birthday party Saturday, Sept. 6th. Please find the invitation attached to their Assignment Book.

 Have a wonderful day!

Quick reminders for parents:

  • Class funds and Lunch Fees are to be paid this week.
  • Students will need 6 A4 Notebooks for class writing, notes and activities, that means 1 for each subject.
  •  Some students have brought their class materials labeled with their names, but its important to remind them that the material will be part of a communal classroom supply area. They are not to take back their colors or items home as they will all be mixed together for class use. This is important for highlighting sharing and community values within our school, as I had mentioned in the Welcome Letter.

I thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

Mid Week Post!

Hello parents! Today we began our Reading class and talked about the story we read "Let's Go to the Moon!" and discussed the difference between real (non fiction) and not real (fiction) stories. In science we discussed the 5 senses and which body part we use for each, and how they are important. Since it is the first time they will be having a Language Arts class we discussed what that will entail through out the year. They also had their first PE class which the kids were really excited about. Homework for today will be once again in the MPB (Math Practice Book) and a page from their Science book SF (Science Fusion). You can find the information for  homework in their Assignment Books. I am attaching our first class picture, hope you enjoy it!

Message from PE teacher, Mr. Yanna

Dear parents,
Mr. Yanna, the PE and health teacher, would like us to pass along the following information for you:

Welcome to the 2015-2016 academic school year
I am happy to say that I will continue as the physical education and health teacher for grade 1 to grade 7 this year.
During this year I hope to be able to teach students various aspects of a healthy lifestyle. I intend to include various movement concepts, body management, locomotor movement, manipulative skills, various fitness concepts as well as self and social responsibilities.
This year we will also introduce a new required medical form for students. This will help me address any issues relating to students and potential health risks. Please have the “check” completed and submitted to the office for record.
Grading will be based on student participation in both Health and P.E class. This includes asking or answering questions, class discussions, work completion, teacher-self-peer evaluations, and a class test.
I look forward to another fun and active year with all the returning, and new students.
Sincerely
Mr. Adam Yanna
